Care Parent Discussion Forum Director
Military Family Services (DMFS) is committed to ensuring ongoing communication
with parents as a crucial element to enhancing child care options for Canadian
Forces (CF) families. An
online discussion forum has been established for families to share their experiences
and ideas with DMFS to ensure that our strategy is responsive and effective. Please
take the time to share your experiences and ideas, and encourage other military
families to get involved in the online discussion forum. Your input is invaluable.

developmental screening tool is available through the MFRC. This questionnaire
helps parents and caregivers understand how a child is progressing and can identify
child development concerns so as to provide assistance or referrals as early as
possible.

early literacy program introduces rhymes, songs, art, and stories that serve to
promote oral language development in babies and toddlers. Rhymes and Creativity

Navigator:
For Canadian Forces Families with Special Needs & Responsibilities - As
a Canadian Forces family, you have chosen a lifestyle that includes relocations,
deployments and a balancing act that requires adaptation and resilience. As a
family with special needs and responsibilities, perhaps your child has special
needs, you or your spouse has a health concern, or you care for an aging family
member. You want a strong and consistent network of resources and services. Through
the Navigator
Website: you can learn, find
the supports you are looking for and get in touch with people to walk with you
and help you along the way. You will connect with other military families who
have asked similar questions and overcome similar challenges. And you can contact
your local Military Family Resource Centre for support in navigating through education,
health, and family resources.
- The
Navigator News publication highlights the website, and includes such things
as success stories from across Canada, featured profiles on national counterparts,
and recommended resources and books. This is available at the MFRC.
